Today, New Zealand is Coronavirus free for now after no new case case is reported with 0 active cases of Coronavirus in New Zealand.

New Zealand is Coronavirus Free for Now

After registering first coronavirus case in February 28, 2020. New Zealand has managed to contain the virus and defeated it with its better policies and better health care system.

The total number of Coronavirus cases in New Zealand stands at 1,154 as of now with 1,132 recovery and 22 deaths, with 0 active case and that is a big win over coronavirus.

New Zealand’s Prime minister Jacinda Ardern revealed that she danced around her living room when told about this massive achievement. She said,

“We are confident we have eliminated transmission of the virus in New Zealand for now,” she said in a television address, saying kiwis had “united in unprecedented ways to crush the virus”.


New Zealand is Back on Track because New Zealand is coronavirus free for now. 

After months of fighting with the virus and many restrictions, New Zealand is now free from restrictions with night clubs to open and theatres also to open again. Sporting events can also proceed with full crowd stands.

New Zealand rugby (NZR) chief executive said.

“We are incredibly proud, and grateful, to be the first professional sports competition in the world to be in a position to have our teams play in front of their fans again,”


New Zealand’s Prime minister Jacinda Ardern said that easing restrictions will boost the economy of New Zealand again.

“We now have a head start on economic recovery because at level one we become one of the most open, if not the most open, economies in the world,” she said.

It has been 17 days since the last new case was reported in New Zealand and now new zealand is virus free on Monday june 8, 2020. The government will drop social distancing restrictions from midnight. The public events as well as private events can resume without social distancing and public transport can also proceed without maintaining social distancing now.

The geographically isolated New Zealand had ghe advantage of being geographically isolated with only more than 1000 cases and with better health system, New Zealand has now managed to defeat the virus unlike the rest of the world.

Many countries and their leaders are appreciating New Zealand’s success over eliminating coronavirus from it’s boundaries. World media is congratulating New Zealand on its success.

United states of America’s situation

USA is having 2,007, 449 cases now with 112, 469 deaths and 761,708 people have recovered so far. New york has recorded the most cases of Coronavirus so far i.e. 398,828 as of now

US president Donald trump had claimed that US has already produced 2 million vaccine doses for Covid-19. During a news conference from the white house, trump said on friday that, ” We had a meeting on vaccines yesterday. We are doing incredibly well. We can have some very positive surprises. Tremendous progress is being made on vaccines.”

“In fact, we are ready to go in terms of transportation and logistics. We have over 2 million ready to go if it checks out for safety,” he added

White House advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci had mentioned earlier this week that there were at least 4 trials of potential vaccines.

Many countries in the world are struggling with coronavirus including Russia, Brazil, India, United kingdom, United States of America. These countries are now having more than lakhs and even million of Coronavirus cases.

India has started its first unlock in which restaurants and malls are reopening today but with many restrictions and social distancing norms. The health ministry of india has advised elderly people (65+age) and people with weak immune system to stay indoors.
